2007 Northern Divisional Qualifier Update
When: Friday, June 15th & Saturday, June 16th

Off limits: Monday, June 4th to Sunday, June 10th, Thursday, June 14th
Practice days - Monday, June 11th - Wednesday, June 13th
We have received the permit for the tournament! Now all we need are members
that
want to fish it!!! We currently have about 25 members, so there is
definitely still time to
join and be eligible to fish this tournament.
Eligibility for this tournament will be based on the order members join.
There are two ways to join. The first way is to form a club (minimum 6
members) and
affiliate with the MFBA. The forms to do this are available at
www.bassfederation.com
under Club Downloads. Complete all the forms and send them with a check for
$40 ($25 -
MFBA, $15 - TBF) per member to the address listed below. The other (and
easier)
way to join is to join under the umbrella club (MFBA Club). To join the MFBA
Club,
simply send a check for $40 along with your FLW Outdoor membership # to the
address
listed below. If you are not currently a member of FLW, go to
www.flwoutdoors.com
and click on the TBF logo in the upper right hand corner and follow the
links. You must
be an FLW member to join the MFBA and therefore, to be eligible to fish this
tournament.
The tournament will be limited to 100 anglers (50 boats) and again,
eligibility will be
based on the order members join. The format will be a blind draw tournament
(as
required by TBF) and members can sign up as boaters or non-boaters. In the
likely event
that we have more boaters than non-boaters enter, boaters will drawn
together and it will
be up to them to determine whose boat to use. If they cant reach an
agreement, then it
will be determined by a coin flip.
The purpose of this tournament is to qualify a 13 person team to send to the
2007
Northern Division Championship which will be held at Sandusky Bay/Lake Erie
in Ohio
during the week of September 10th. The team will consist of 6 boaters, 6
co-anglers and
1 alternate. Boaters will be determined by the order of finish in the
Qualifying Event.
The two highest finishing anglers from Minnesota at the 2007 Northern
Division
Championship will advance to the 2008 TBF National Championship.
In order to help cover the expenses of the anglers that advance on, there
will be a $100
entry fee (in addition to the membership dues) for this tournament. All of
the proceeds
from this tournament will go to pay for the travel and lodging expenses for
the anglers
that advance on. It is still possible/probable that anglers will have to
cover a portion
of the costs to participate in the Northern Division Championship.
