MFBA Jr. State Championship rules and entry form.

Specific information regarding the take-off and weigh-in times, as well the required pre-tournament meeting will be available soon and will also be sent out to the anglers after they sign up.

The age groups for this tournament are 11-14 and 15-18. The birthday cutoff for the age brackets is August 31, 2008.

The winner in each age group will qualify to fish in the FLW Junior World Championship which will be held in Columbia, SC in the middle of August. TBF will be providing travel assistance money for each qualifier, based on the distance required to travel to Columbia. Additionally, lodging at the tournament will be covered as well.

The anglers that qualify to advance will be fishing with FLW Tour pros. And once again the tournament will be held in conjunction with the Forrest Wood Cup. We are expecting that the National Guard, as well as other sponsors, will once again step up and make sure this is an experience they will never forget.

In order for a junior angler to compete in the 2008 Junior State Championship, they first must join the Minnesota Federation of Bass Anglers (MFBA) and TBF. There is no cost for junior anglers to join the MFBA. There are two TBF membership options. The first is the premium membership which includes a 1 year membership to FLW Outdoors including a 1 year subscription to FLW Outdoors Magazine, an annual TBF membership, a shirt, a hat and some baits. The cost of the premium membership is $25. The second membership option is the standard membership which simply provides an annual TBF membership. The cost of the standard membership is $5. To learn more about joining a youth club, contact us at info@mnbass.org.

Once they have signed up with the MFBA and TBF, they will need to fill out an entry form, sign it and have their parent/guardian sign it and send it to the address shown below. After the entry form is received, a confirmation letter will be sent out, along with the specifics on the pre-tournament meeting, take-off and weigh-in times and other pertinent information.

As we are not requiring youth clubs to be associated with an adult club, we are not able to require youth clubs to provide boaters for this tournament, so, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!! If you are willing to be a boater for this tournament, please fill out the Boat Captain section of the entry form and send it along with a copy of your current proof of insurance to the address below. If you are willing to help out in any other way, please send an e-mail to info@mnbass.org.

Please send all membership sign up information and tournament entries forms to:

Minnesota Federation of Bass Anglers

19833 W. Ford Brook Drive

Anoka, MN 55303

If you have any questions or need any additional information, please feel free to contact us at info@mnbass.org.

The MFBA and TBF would like to thank all of our sponsors and ask that you keep them in mind the next time you’re in the market for their products/services.
