Dear family, friends and colleagues,
Once again I will again be fishing in a tournament this spring to benefit St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital, so once again I am contacting you in hope
that you can help support this great cause. As I’ve been preparing for the
arrival of my new daughter, the importance of organizations like St. Jude has
taken on a new meaning for me. Hopefully I’ll never have to use their services,
but it’s comforting to know that they are out there working every day to cure
childhood diseases.
All donations raised will go directly to support the cutting edge research and
patient care at St. Jude and they do make a difference! Listed below is a link
that I encourage you to check out, as it provides a very good overview of St.
Jude.
http://www.stjude.org/StJude/CDA/VirtualTour/virtual_tour.html
Last year’s event raised over $100,000 for St. Jude and this year we are hoping
to increase that number. This will be a challenge though as we will have fewer
participants in the tournament due to restrictions put on the event by the DNR.
Through the generosity of my friends, family and colleagues, I was able to
personally raise over $4,900!!! This was the 3rd highest total among all of the
teams that participated and when you consider that the top 2 teams raised the
majority of their money via events (pancake breakfasts, silent auctions, etc.),
it means I was the top fund raiser from private sources. Thank you to everyone
who contributed! This year my goal is to raise $6,000. And while I haven’t fared
quite as well in the tournament part of this event as I have in the fund raising
part, I still plan to donate 50% of any money I win in this tournament to St.
Jude.
So, if you are willing and able to help out by donating to this great cause, I
would truly appreciate your support. No donation is too small (or too big!),
every dollar donated is tax deductible and helps a child’s chance of being
cured. Please send your check, made payable to St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, to me by April 30th at:
19833 W. Ford Brook Drive
Anoka, MN 55303
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to
e-mail me at rpelletier@4nsi.com or
visit the St. Jude website at www.stjude.org.
Thanks in advance for your support!!!
Rick
